My first impressions

My first post is about my early impressions of the book and how I came to read Harry Potter.

I have never read a Harry Potter book before, because I did not really like to read as a child and I did also not like this kind of books anyway, because of the many pages. I had rather read books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid because it had many pictures in it.

I may have seen one or two Harry Potter movies in the last ten years, but I never understood them because I didn't look at them chronologically. So, you can say that I know almost nothing about the Harry Potter universe and that's exactly why I wanted to take the opportunity and chose this book.

I have now read the first chapter and I have to say that it captivated me directly. I thought it was great to get to know a few characters right from the start and the beginning made me very curious about the further course of the story.
