Harry's life with the Dursley's

EMPATHY

- Say in what ways you wish a character would change/develop or what you would like to happen in the life of some character.

I have now read the book to the end of the third chapter and so far, I like the book very much and I don't really have to force myself to read it as I do with most books.

The last two chapters show Harry's life with the Dursley family. Harry is always disadvantaged and doesn't really feel comfortable in the family. He probably has the worst cousin you can imagine as a child and is always placed second.

During this part of the book you feel strong compassion for the little boy, especially since you can easily put yourself in such a position.

But in the third chapter something changes. Suddenly Harry gets a letter sent, which he couldn't open and read before the Dursleys had destroyed him. More and more letters are sent to him and Mr. Dursley always destroys every single one of them. This escalates so much that the family had to leave the house to get no more letters.

In this chapter something seems to change for Harry. One is happy to see as a reader that he now has a little spark of hope that he is important to someone.

Even though I already know that Harry will one day become a great magician, one wishes him so much that something changes in his life. However, you can also understand the Dursleys' point of view, not because they only want the best for Harry, but rather because they are afraid to be caught up by the past of the Potters.
